Happy Turkey Day!

We hope you all had such a happy and blessed Thanksgiving! You are all such good friends to us and we love you very much! We are so thankful for all we have!
It's a wonderful life!
.... I just thought I would share a hilarious story with you in the spirit of Thanksgiving.....
The Parrot

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary. Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute. Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer.
The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said
"I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."
John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued,
"May I ask what the turkey did?"

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Twilight!

Did anyone else see TWILIGHT this weekend? We went to see it on Saturday. I loved it and I thought it was so exiting. It had a little of everything in it... and it was full of dreamy people!
It is always so exiting to read a book and see how everything turns out on film. It was really exiting for me because everything was really close to the way I had imagined.... the scenery and houses and also the characters looked very similar to the way I had pictured. Here are a few pics that I wanted to post.
The spectacular, Edward. I love his hair!

I don't know about you girls but I love the character, Jacob! I think he is so fun!
Plus look at him! He is gorgeous!!! ... And I can't forget to mention the HOT guy I sat next to during the movie. He put up with my giggling and other googley girly sounds for two hours. I had a ball!

Randy and the Vet. DUN DUN DUN! (Dramatic background music)

Okay... Funny story! So the other day I had to take Randy to the vet to get GROOMED! And of course he was sooo cooperative... NOT.
Yeah, Randy has super fine, down-like hair. It tangles and matts really easy. I try to brush him and trim him but he always gets so pissed at me. Oh yeah and even if he does let me clean him up he'll just go outside later and roll around in the dirt or mud or some other horror and come in worse off than before. So we get him groomed a couple times a year.....
So anyways I take him to the vet for his shots and to get groomed. Oh and did I mention that they have to sedate him?... because as ornery as he gets with me it is nothing compared to how he is with strangers trying to mess with him.
I had to post these papers.... This one is Randy's mug shot. Very photogenic. I had to bring this home for Tomm to help explain the bill. I don't know how well you can read it; (try clicking on the picture to enlarge it) but I especially agree with #3 (You don't try to bite or scratch your hairdresser) ,#14 and #17. Ha ha so funny!

And here is Purrl's report card from the vet. Notice the smiley face and in the comments..."Purrl was an exellent patient!"

..... Randy didn't get a smiley face. And NO COMMENTS for him either.

Happy Veteran's Day!

This week was pretty cool at the VA Hospital. In observance of Veteran's Day the VFW and Humana Health Care donated money so that all the vets that came in could have free haircuts. It's always so awesome to see people give to show they care. That's the way all of us feel about doing what we do. So all the money that was donated goes back to the hospital and other charities for the Veterans and to support the troops. I have so much fun working with Kay and Tony! I admire Kay so much for all she does! She is so giving. We are good friends, we joke around a lot with each other and laugh a lot.

Runaway with me!

We had such an amazing weekend together! Tomm surprised me with a trip down to Fort Lauderdale. It was so exiting to feel like we are running away together. We stayed Friday and Saturday night at the beautiful, Lago Mar. It is soo gorgeous there and it's right on the beach! On Saturday morning Tomm caught up with a friend and played golf.... as much as he works, he doesn't get to go often enough. So it was fun for him to go enjoy the awesome weather with a buddy. I got another big surprise that morning, he treated me to a massage at the spa. It was so pretty in there and FANCY! When I got there for my appointment they had me change into the most luscious robe (it was like a really cushy towel inside and silky on the outside) and then they took me to a room to wait until the appointment started. They gave me some fruit and this really great water with oranges and cucumbers in it. I was so impressed! The massage was seriously to die for; it was amazing! I still feel so pampered and rejuvenated!

We had a terrific room! This was our view.
All smiles! He was the best part of the whole weekend.

The next day after my massage, I went and spent the afternoon on the beach reading my book. The weather was nice and warm and low wind. It was so nice to enjoy the sunshine.

I didn't realize they had canoe excursions there until I saw these people. So I mentioned we should try going out on a canoe sometime to Tomm. He started laughing.... supposedly he has this idea in his head that we would be out there and maybe a bug or spider would get on me and I would panic and cause the canoe to tip over. Haha... I didn't think about it that way. I could definately see the danger in canoeing for us. But these people made it look like fun.

We're ready to go to dinner together. Where else but Outback Steakhouse? It is so good!

Before we left Fort Lauderdale we decided to stop at this place called Dave & Busters. It was soooo fun! I had never seen so many arcade games in one place in my life. After we were done there we went to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch. It was delicious!!!

This game was HILARIOUS! I was laughing so hard playing it. You drive a big truck and you have to get somewhere in a short amount of time so you really just have to step on it. And you just plow the road pretty much... just ram anything in your way. And when I hit something I felt the machine vibrate. Plus as you're driving you hear all these redneck voices yelling and talking to eachother. I got such a kick out of it! Here is Tomm giving it hell.

This one was WAY fun too. It's a snow mobile race. This one also had special effects; it would jiggle around when you wrecked. I felt like I was on a mechanical bull. Ha ha. To both our surprise I ended up coming in first! After being gone a couple days, it's always nice to come home to the kitties. They were anxiously awaiting our return. They always stay in the garage at night and when we go away so they can't wait to get in the house... Purrl can't wait to get into ANYTHING... hee hee. And here she is into trouble right away.

Honey, thank you for everything! You always make me feel so special. I appreciate all your planning. You are such a stud! XOXOxxoo

Support Our Troops and Veterans Golf Tournament

I had the opportunity today to volunteer at a "Support Our Troops and Veterans" golf tournament. We were all able to raise money for the cause. It was so amazing to go and spend my time with fellow volunteers, vets, and current servicemen.
I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I had family in the service but I never really understood their sacrifice until now. My brother, Kasey Jensen is in the military. Now it is personal for me. I don't think enough people really know what it is like to sacrifice for this country's freedom. After 9/11 I just felt a desire to help out and support the troops. And now that Tomm and I live in Florida we are surrounded by Veterans. I volunteer at the local VA hospital in the barber shop. So I get to spend a lot of time with our vets and servicemen and women. I will tell you first hand that they are the most unselfish and giving. They never expect a Thank-you or a hand out. They put their life on the line so that we can all be free to live our wonderful, convenient lives. And yet they are sometimes the most in need of our help. I once saw a man here on the side of the road; he was probably in his 50's. He was missing one of his legs (I wondered how easy it would be for me to work and get around with just one of my legs). So I gave him some money and told him thank-you for fighting in Vietnam. He started to cry and said he appreciated it. I knew he wasn't talking about the money. They are all around us you guys. Some are living healthy, prosperous lives. But some are on the street doing what they can and struggling. I ask that you all pay attention and keep your eyes open. Please support our troops; whether you donate time or money or simply place your hand on your heart when you see one.... they'll know what you mean. And learn as much as you can about American history. It will help you appreciate the simple things in life.

The golf tournament was raising money to send care packages to the troops. This website tells you about a man by the name of Bob Williams, who was a Vietnam vet. He dedicates most of his time shipping things to the troops. Take a moment and read about him and his work.

I hope you can get something out of this. I just think that even the smallest act of kindness can be so big for others. And kindness and thoughtfulness goes a lot further than money.
Love you guys! Thanks for reading!

Here are some pics of the gorgeous golf course.

Happy Birthday Natalie!

I want to make a post to my sister, Natalie, on her birthday! For those who already know her; I don't need to tell you that she is one of the most amazing people you'll ever meet in your life.
Nat and I are two years apart. It was love at first sight when I saw Nat... as you can see... we have always been close. (Oh and THANKYOU for saving me from being a tomboy! You helped me discover pink and purple... it was divine intervention)
Me and Nat making a mess. Poor Mom! We were always into everything! Mud, makeup, food. Hee hee.
I love this picture! It just illustrates the bond we have SO well. We were always together.... with our "Rainbow Brite" haircuts.... thanks Mom! (Sometimes I got a little too clingy! Hee hee!... and Nat... thanks for that awesome bite in the stomach. It still hurts a little bit.)
The days when they called us twins. Same hair and we shared everything. We also would go riding around in the Chevy truck, listening to all our favorite songs. We'd find an exiting spot, and talk and laugh about anything and everything. It was such a fun, carefree time!
This was such a special day! I will always treasure the whole experience! I won't ever forget what a beautiful bride you were that day. You still are! Sparklers!!!!! Where would we be without them?

Okay so I'm not posting any of Drake's birth- pics. But I wanted to tell you something about the day you gave birth to little Drakey. I was in awe! I am so thankful that I was able to be there that day. I have never been so proud of you! It seemed like you knew exactly what to do. Just seeing those "Motherly instincts" actually taking place. It was a miracle and it was so touching! What a beautiful Mom you are!

This is one of my favorite pics of you guys! I am just soo glad that you and Grant have each other! You are so blessed! The way you look at each other and work together. It gives me goosebumps!
Lovebirds

Dad took us to work one day. This was so fun! Climbing around on trains and going for rides. We can have fun doing anything together!

Nat, you are so thoughtful and caring! It is so hard to be far away from you. I miss you so much!... and I miss so much of what goes on. I see all of you grow in pictures and it always makes me wish I was there too. Time goes by so fast! I wish I could be there to see you everyday!

I wish that Utah didn't have snow and Tomm and I would move there in a second! .... and I am super pissed! What happened to that GLOBAL WARMING business? I was counting on it.

Natty, I can't tell you how much joy you bring to mine and so many people's lives! Happy Birthday!
