Happy Birthday Mom!

I dedicate this post to Mom.

I wish I could be there to hang out and celebrate with you today!
I don't always tell you why you're so special to me. I love and admire you in so many ways. So what is great about you, Mom? Here are just a few things...

You are probably the most loving person I have ever known in my life.
You are an easy laugher.
You are very smart and inquizzative.
You've got spunk and spirit.
You are so giving and you make it look easy.
You understand a young girl's heart... even though it's hard and you didn't want to sometimes.
You are stronger than you will ever admit.
You are easy to talk to.
You are FUN!

.... you're just wonderful! I love you and I feel loved by you. I feel very lucky to have you!

Happy Birthday!

Let The Good Times Roll!

We went to visit with our best buddies Matt and Dianne for a long weekend. We had such a fun-filled time!
THURSDAY: We got into town around 7pm and we went to an AWESOME pizza place. We were all starving and ate like it was our last meal... and the guys drank the cold beer like animals. We just talked and had a good time laughing and eating. I shared my latest embarrassing moment and everyone laughed at my expense (PS I would share it but it is quite long and humiliating... it is it's own separate post so stay tuned). After dinner it was pretty much bed time.
FRIDAY: Tomm played golf with a buddy. Dianne and I went to a cool gift shop that you really could spend a whole day in but we skimmed through in an hour and managed to pick up a present for the birthday girl, Nicole (Matt and Dianne's daughter). That night we went BOWLING... now the bowling alley in Canton, GA on Friday night is the "PLACE"! Dianne won both games... she is a pro! Their son, Jason stopped by and played with us for awhile which was a blast! We ordered Chili Cheese Fries and Onion Rings and enjoyed them immensely. There was karaoke but we didn't participate... but I swear I saw Travis Tritt (Mullet, cowboy coat with tassels on it) pacing around waiting for the party to start.
Dianne making another strike. Our handsome guys!
Pretty girls!
SATURDAY: Tomm and Matt went to the lake for a ride on Matt's boat and had some guy time. We girls (Dianne, Nicole and I) all went to the NEW shopping center. First we went to Taco Mac and ate some Ultimate Nachos and they have all these different beers so we each tried one. Then we went to Super Target and looked around and shopped. After awhile we all met back home for Nicole's birthday BBQ dinner. We played the game "Catch Phrase" boys vs girls and totally won... we enjoyed giving the boys a tremendous slapping. Then we went down stairs into their awesome basement and played bowling on the Wii and the girls again prevailed over the boys! At least they took it well (with a swig of beer).
SUNDAY: We were back on the road home to Florida. It's always hard to leave all our dear friends we have in Georgia. It was a long ride home but we had fun talking and looking around. And I swear my bladder is smaller because we had to stop like every second, it was quite annoying. Here are some pictures that I took of our way out of downtown Atlanta, GA .

I attempted to get a picture of the torch... It's blocked a little bit.
I saw that HUGE crane on top of that building and decided it was worth documenting.
The giant peach
A fair that we didn't get to go to :( A pretty view driving out of Jacksonville, FL
Another pretty view.

I heard it snowed the other day in Utah. WHAT?!!!

You guys can come visit us and escape from the cold anytime!!! You always have a place to stay. It would be so fun!

Lucky in Love

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We celebrated our favorite way ... and that is a quiet dinner at home. I get so into holidays; it's so much fun! :)

Guess who got pinched for not wearing green? Last year he tricked me into thinking he wasn't wearing any green with the old, green underwear trick... this year however I was the wiser. Hee hee, it's fun to act like children. Our dinner... the traditional corned beef and cabbage.

Leprechaun cake Randy being a smart alec.

Master of the Skies

One of Tomm's Christmas presents was a gift certificate to Tropical Helicopter for an intro flight. So basically you get to go up in the air for a 1/2 hour with a helicopter. He has talked about flying one ever since he started playing Microsoft Flight Simulator. Tomm has a love for anything with an engine. He has owned some FAST and hard to drive cars so I'm sure it helped that he is really comfortable driving on the road.
Yeah he is pretty much a badass pilot now!
I was so impressed at how much he already knew about the helicopter's mechanics and controls. The flight instructor would not stop saying how impressed he was with Tomm's ability to handle the thing. He said he had a slow, steady hands (to which I totally agree) and that is the one of the essential things that most people have to master before they are able to fly a helicopter because it wants to go up/down, side to side, and twirl all at once.
Tomm said the coolest thing about the whole flight was that he actually got to hover the helicopter by himself.... I saw them out there in the distance hovering and I thought to myself "he is probably doing that without help from the instructor". By the way... this is the hardest thing to do with a helicopter... I know personally because I have tried it on Flight Simulator and failed miserably because I panicked and jerked).
You know when your boyfriend or husband makes you proud in a super HOT way. Well I was so exited for him! He was all smiles and it is everything to see him accomplish something he wants to do. We had so much fun!
We're exited! The guys checking all the checkpointsI can almost see the words floating above his head "I think this will fit in the garage".
Buckled in and ready to venture.
Giving me the thumbs up! Ka chow!!
Hovering and waiting for the green light.
Somewhere in between this last picture and the next one they buzzed a few fields with some weaving acrobat maneuvers.

And is anyone familiar with the Stratushere in Las Vegas? Well they sorta did a move like that!!! Straight up and FAST! Ahhhhh
Oh and did I mention that the doors to the helicopter were OFF?
I-yi

This is the part when they came in to land and Tomm was able to hover out by that tower.
There is a tiny spec hovering right above the ground to the right of the grey stake-looking thingys. That's him alright getting his groove on. Woohoo!
Anyways! It was AWESOME! If any of you girls out there are in need of gift ideas and you think he might like to take on a whirlybird. We highly recommend it! In fact Tomm sais, and I quote he "would give up GOLF for flying helicopters"!
That is like saying I, Whitney will never shop at Ross or Khols or Sephora or Charolette Russe again.

I'm Pretty Sure It's Not T-Gel

In our house it's kindof an inside joke of ours to be skeptical of the the knock off versions of "the real thing"(ex: "I can't believe it's not butter", It's not even close! Tomm has renamed it "I'm pretty sure it's not butter"... he makes me laugh! Hee hee).
So the latest object of our discussion was Neutrogena T-Gel shampoo. I went to get him some awhile back because his scalp was itching and it happens to be the #1 dermatologist recommended shampoo for scalp problems (Now as a hairstylist, this is kind of controversial for me to be upstaging a "store brand" product). So I go to Walmart and I go to the shampoo isle and I am getting the T-Gel and there is a voice behind me that says "the Walmart brand is just as good and it's half the price". I turn to see a man with a decent looking scalp and he goes on to tell me he has been a user for years that he really likes the Walmart brand better. I think AWESOME! and I buy it.
So I go home with what I think is "I can't believe it's not T-Gel". Tomm was like "Cool!" cause the real stuff is expensive(more than my professional shampoo). Well I don't need to tell you that it turned out to be a disappointment and we have added one more product to the "Poser" list.
Some things are worth the extra money.
