Happy Family

Has it been a week already?! It feels like so much has happened since Little T was born. We are adjusting really well and learning ALL the time what to do and what NOT to do. He still has his nights confused with days so we are also learning to survive without sleep and trying to transition him to a schedule. He is the sweetest baby!!! I am having the time of my life!
Funny story: So we were taking him to his Pediatrician last Thursday for a checkup and I was packing the diaper bag. Well I pride myself in being a prepared person when it comes to packing bags (something that I often find myself being ridiculed for by others). Well as I was packing I was trying to be conservative and was saying to myself "Pack only what we NEED! We'll only be gone for 2 hours and we are only going to the Doctor". Well let me tell you.... Little Thomas made a mockery of my conservatively packed bag in like 2 shakes!!! He peed all over himself and me several times... peed on his Doctor's table. My oh my.... it was definitely an education.

Hello World!

It's a BOY!!!
Tomm and I celebrated our 4th anniversary in the hospital. Thomas Chatman Simmons Jr. was born August 23rd at 1:40 pm. He was 8 lbs and 21 inches. He has lots of cute dark hair and very kissable chubby cheeks! Here are some pics of before we went to the hospital and the days following his arrival...

The last pregnant picture! YAY!
The Kitties. Having their last nap in the bedroom. This area is now off limits to kitties and kitty hair.
The Nursery
All ready for baby!

At the hospital...
Our room came with a view. This was a guilty pleasure... we were able to see the helicopters land but we also felt bad for whom ever went for a ride.
Labor and Delivery...
My doctor induced my labor at 7:30 am Monday morning. I started feeling those contractions RIGHT away (not fun... suddenly the helicopter wasn't so awesome). They gave me my epidural at 10:30 am and not a minute too soon. I was quite a piece of work at that point! I sent Tomm out of the room and told him not to come back without a doctor and an epidural. Once I got the shot everyone's day got better! For the next 3 hours and 10 minutes we were all blissfully unaware of the remaining contractions. At 1:15 pm I was ready to push and my Doctor was MIA... He finally showed up at 1:30 and Little Thomas was born 3 pushes later. AH sweet bliss!

The second he was born I was able to hold him.
Proud Daddy!

Getting washed and dressed (hated it).
My amazing Doctor and Nurse! There are no words to express my appreciation!

Due Date Come. Due Date Go.

Well here it is, August 18th/ 40 weeks/ 9months. And where is our little angel? Still kicking away inside me. Now when people ask me "When are you due?" I can say "Yesterday!".
I had prepared myself a few weeks ago that Baby Simmons would most likely be late but I have to admit I am still a little bummed that he/she is not swaddled in my arms right now.
On the up side I am soo happy that I have carried this baby full term! Hey, it must be really comfy in there. I am glad at least one of us is having a good time right now... haha!
As of now I am scheduled to be induced next Wednesday, August 25th... granted that I don't go into labor before then. Yay! I can't wait for our little miracle to arrive!!!!
