Happy "Owl"oween!

We had so much fun celebrating Halloween at home! Just the two of us. We had dinner and watched scary movies on TV and of course answered the door. I was a little bummed out that we didn't get more kids. But the ones who did come looked SO dang cute in thier costumes! My favorite bunch were three little girls dressed as princesses and when they were leaving they curtsied to me. What little ladies! I was so impressed by all the kids manners too... they were only taking one piece of candy! I had to ASK them to take more. We have SO much candy leftover now! Here are some cupcakes I made. I love my new cupcake cookbook! Tomm's cupcake.

Our kitties did NOT appreciate all the door bell ringing.
Me and handsome hubby!

I was Snow White this year

Me and happy kitty.

My spider cake. OKA... the tower of terror! This little project didn't quite go as smooth as I planned. The frosting was too thin to work with and my spiders could've been better. Oh well, it was fun trying something new.Our dinner. We call it Frito Chili pie. It's really good especially with an ice cold coke!

We celebrated Halloween at the VA hospital too. Here are a couple pics of everyone in thier costumes. We had lots of laughs!
Disco Babes!

Feelin' the Mush!

I was definitely feelin it. Pumpkin carving is one of my favorite Halloween traditions. I got four pumkins to carve this year (one for each of us) and ended up carving all four. Yay! Tomm helped a little bit (he wasn't too keen on the MUSH part. Hee hee) he thought of the "Cat" carving idea. I thought it turned out soo cool. Plus I was so pissed because one of my teeth broke off my starry eyed pumpkin but he was able to fix it like new. I had never seen White pumpkins before.... I thought I'd change it up a little and get some. It was so fun!
Here's a close up of them all finished.

The white ones all done. The one on the right sais "Meow"

Me gettin in there. Squish squish.
Randy being curious and rubbing against everything (his favorite thing).
Tomm keeping me company. (I love that smile!)
Purrl checking things out.
The line up.
I thought this video was funny! Our hyper cats on tape.

RANDOM TAG

1. Link to the person that tagged you
2. Post the rules on your blog
3. Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself
4. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs
5. Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.
6. Let your tagged peeps know once your entry is UP.

Random #1: I have to sleep with one foot out of the covers. It is so weird but I can't sleep otherwise. I was talking to Grandma the other day and I mentioned my quirk and she said she is the same way! I guess I take after her.

Random #2: I love to listen to my music LOUD! I get so emersed in the music I love! I am a little self conscious about the volume of it though. Whenever I hear someone driving down the street with their stereo blasting I am like "Who do they think they are?". So I adjust when people are around. Thank goodness for ipods... you'll hear me coming a mile away.

Random #3: I cut the crust off the bread of my sandwiches. Is it just me, or do the crusts taste a little bitter?... and of coarse they are "crusty". I also don't like like the heal or butt of the loaf.

Random #4: When I vacuum I like the perfect vacuum lines in the carpet. I like all the lines in the same direction. And I just like to savor the neatness so I will try to make the littlest amount of traffic as possible. I always walk around the edges of the room so I won't ruin the look. When me and Tomm first got married he would always just trudge through the middle of the carpet without a clue! One day he even walked through as I was vacuuming!!! I was like "Really?!!". Now a days I have chilled out... He works so hard! I say "Honey, go right ahead! You can make the first prints if you want". What a loving wife, huh? I am still strict with myself though.

Random # 5: Mkay... those closest to me already know this one.... I can't stand the texture of the inside of a pomegranate, honeycomb, tripe (a discusting meat at the grocery store). I just can't stand to look at it. And I feel like I need to destroy the pattern. I just take a deep breath and walk away or I will take action and kick the crap out of it. Random, eh?

Random #6: If I see a pimple on a loved one I have to take care of it. My favorite is the blackhead! I will say my friends that I have taken this obsession to the next level.... I work at the VA medical center and the guys that come in for haircuts sometimes have a little "somethin somethin" around their ears or IN their ears or even on their necks and I can't resist popping their zits! I even stooped low enough to bring my extractor to work with me. I say "Honey, leave it to me, let me get that for ya before it gets worse" What?... it will huh Nat? They think I am just helping them out.... they have no idea of the pleasure I am getting. You just wouldn't believe how much gook comes out of there... years of it! Ick!

So there you have it... just a few of my random facts. I know that some of those definitely fit into the "Crazy/ What the F?" category. It was fun though.

OKAY I am tagging 6 lucky people... Katie, Shay, Natalie, Kinder, Martha and Susan. Have fun girls!

Our Family Tree... cupcake style

Thanks to this book, "Hello Cupcake" (bought it at Target) I was having WAY too much fun tonight making these cupcakes. Aren't the kitties adorable?!!... their little tongues. This book has the cutest ideas ever! ... yes, it has a Halloween section (which I will totally be playing around with). I learned how to use all sorts of different candy and cereals for the decorations. The book teaches you how to work with frosting so it's not a pain in the butt. I hope you guys go check out the book cuz it is so creative.

FYI....

Me and Tomm recently compromised on a blog detail...... The music on our blog is not on auto play anymore (eye roll). If you want to give a listen to my fabulous playlist, you will have to hit the play button. I personally like music on blogs. But others, including my awesome husband HATE music on blogs or any website for that matter. Hee hee! I'm like shaking my head.(Honey? did we really have our first "blog" arguement/ discussion?)

Dear Family and Friends,

We have some sad news. Today our sweet little baby went back to heaven. We are both heart sick and we are going to try to get through the best we can. I hope that nobody will worry about us. We are glad we have your support; it is such a comfort to have such wonderful families and friends at this time.

Lots of love to you,

Whitney and Tomm

Two longest car rides:
1. Salt Lake City, UT to Washington, MO.... Six people in a car.... drove through Kansas... got car sick reading a book.... wore the wrong outfit for traveling.

2. Atlanta, GA to Dallas, TX. It wasn't as bad. Tomm drove plus we got to stop somewhere for the night. But... I had an accident with Easy (Evil) Cheese.... the can sort of popped and cheese went "poof" everywhere... Tomm yelled at me and I was yelling at the cheese. LOL! But we did have fun too... I got to see some new country that was really pretty. And we came across this crazy radio show as we were driving. It was totally for hunters and rednecks. They were playing a recorded duck call and they wanted people to call in and guess which kind of duck was making the sound (call)... PS they were giving away a tree to the winner.... turned out to be a "Wood Duck". And then after the contest they were talking about "coon hunts". This one guy calls in and you could hardly understand him but he starts saying how he thinks that people who hunt "coons" are "selfish" and people who won't let you hunt on thier land are "selfish"... he was sooo wierd! It was so entertaining. Hee hee.

Two favorite beverages:
1. Coke

2. Anything really cold... Milk, Water, OJ, Slurpee...

King of the Mountain

We were all relaxing in front of the TV when a favorite game of our two kitty's started up. Randy always seems to start it. He gets a little hyper and wants Purrl to play with him and if she isn't interested he will do the one thing that she won't put up with.... He tries to bathe her. Sometimes he doesn't even want to play; he just wants her to sit still while he washes her and he hopes she will wash his ears for him (which rarely happens, I usually end up getting a wash rag and doing it for him; which he loves). It's so funny to watch it all unfold. Here is a cute video of them. In one part you'll see him try to lick her paw although she is pushing him away with it... hee hee. He just can't take a hint.
