Discovery Gateway

One of the funnest things we all did while I was in Utah was go the the new children's museum, DISCOVERY GATEWAY. We took Nat's boys, Drake 11/2 years and Logan 4 mos. Drake LOVED everything! He just ran wild and enjoyed every minute of it. He has so much energy, it was perfect for him!.... I am now so baby BOY hungry it is ridiculous!
While we were already downtown we went to dinner at Cafe Rio and picked up some dessert at The Dodo... has anyone tried the Tollhouse pie? It is to die for! It was such a special night, one I will always remember!

Grant works near by and walked down to visit us for a minute... An employee was kind enough to get a picture of us all together.

I forgot what this thing was called... I named it the shimmy bike cause that's how you drive the thing... Shake shake shake. Shelby models it nicely!
Me and Logan... oh those cheeks are irresistable!
Drake and Mommy playing with the ball machine.

Me, Natty and Drake who is too busy for pictures! Such a boy! (Nat, we look good though! Ka chow)
I think this was Drake's favorite thing about the whole place. He's into cars! Beep beep.
Watch out Nat and Grant... this might be on his Christmas list one day.

Logan trying the horsey out. So cute!.. again take note the cuteness of those cheeks.
Mommy and Drake in the helicopter.
This was my favorite part... the puzzles! I could've sat there and played with these all night. Nat and Shel thought so too and even Drake played for a minute or two.
Making friends.

The splashing site. Very popular!

Bringing Home Blanche!

Welcome home Blanche! Mommy doesn't hate you, I promise!
Has anyone else ever had the pleasure of sitting next to someone with an animal on an airplane? Well I provided a few lucky people with that experiance today.... Super fun for them I know!
The whole thing actually went better than I thought. There were a few snags but Blanche was really good and quiet most of the time. When we finally made it home we got comfortable together and took a nap.
FYE here are the PRO's and CON's of the flight home....
PRO's
  • I had a red eye flight so I thought "The plane won't be full".
  • There was no waiting in the security screening line.
  • Her carrier fit under the seat.
  • She was quiet thanks to the drugs I gave her.
  • I wasn't worried about her going potty because I didn't give her food or water for almost the whole day before.
  • We had a window seat so I could sleep easier.
  • People were very nice to her.
  • We made it home safe and she met my other cats. They didn't hiss at her or anything!
  • She is now starting to relax a little bit and go investigate the house.
CON's
  • The flight was full.
  • When we got to security... the guy wanted me to take her out of her carrier... (it was super fun getting her back in it).
  • Thanks to the drugs she was quiet but she would not stop squirming!
  • She peed in her carrier.
  • The best part is, you know how I had the awesome window seat? Well I had to wake my peacefully sleeping neighbors to race to the bathroom with a "peedy" cat and carrier to clean up the mess.
  • When we got home I was feeling so bad about how freaked out she was. She was hissing and growling at all of us. She's still pissed!
Anyways... no matter how things go they can always be worse right? Yeah well I hope the coming weeks go okay with the cats getting to know eachother and I hope she likes it here. I am so exited about her being here! I love her!

Friends, the Fair and Randy vs the Snake

FRIENDS

Our BFFs from Georgia came to visit us this last weekend. We had the best time with them! Matt is one of Tomm's best friends and Dianne is one of mine and they just happen to be married to eachother so it is always fun no matter what we do or where we go. When we lived in Georgia we were always together. We miss them so much!

Here are the manly men

Friday during the day Tomm had to work :( so we went to "City Place" and walked around. There are a TON of shops and we had lunch at Cheeburger. It was so sunny and pretty outside. SO fun!

A cool fountain in the big court yard.

THE FAIR

The South Florida Fair is happening now (See... if all you guys move to Florida then January won't be such a drag. ). There are always so many things to look at and watch. From animals to crafts of all kinds. And the treats... everything from soup to nuts! We had so much fun.
I also entered a baking contest this year too. It was so awesome!

This was probably the coolest exhibit we saw at the fair. We stood and watched them carve and pack for a little while. The details were perfect! It was pretty amazing.

A mummy! Ahhhh

Me and my date!
Dianne and her date.My enteries in the contest were Key Lime Cupcakes. These turned out perfect! It is so fun for me to get into something like this and get a little competitive. Whit's Apple Pie... one day it will be "Mom's apple pie" to the kids. I can't wait to teach it to them.

THE BUNNY RANCH
Bunnies for sale!
The most social bunny. The girl walked him around and was letting people and little kids pet him.

The fluffiest bunny

The most anti-social bunny. Hiding in the pipe.

The most nervous bunny. Sleeping with one eye open. CUTE!

Most tired.

Grumpiest

The Poser... trying to be a siamese cat. Cute!

Gather round y'all for the pig race! Heeell yeah!

No swamp is too much for these tires.
Gotta have the hunting/ deer accesories. I dedicate this picture to Jarrel.

We were tempted.... a swamp truck would be fun to ride now and then.

Tomm checking out all the cars. He LOVES anything to do with cars.... You can't stump him. I was like "What year is this one?" He knew all of them! Impressive!

The salesman told me I would look hot in this car. I told him I'd be happy just to go for a ride in it. I love the purpley red color and the big engine. Rummmm rumm

RANDY vs the SNAKE
The saga continues with our cat, Randy and his life adventures in the outdoors. Sometimes I think it would be interesting to see where he goes all night because there are so many critters everywhere. However... I would NOT have liked to be a fly on the wall outside on the patio during this night. All I know is I woke up that morning and found a grizzly crime scene on our patio....

He was totally proud of himself! Why do cats bring you discusting things? Sickness!

My Grandma is 92 today. She is such a big part of my life and so special to me. I can't wait to see her next time I visit Idaho.
I love you MORE!

Ringing in the New Year...

I feel like The holidays flew by so fast... so I am finally sharing all we did over Christmas and New Year's. We had the most amazing time together! Tomm was completely OFF of work from Christmas Eve to New Years Day... WOO HOO! So that was my favorite thing and his favorite thing about the holidays.... TIME for spending time together.

Where'd everything go?! Do you think they see us?

Our little darlings enjoyed all the action on Christmas morning. Randy is a little too mature for ransacking wrapping paper and ribbons. Purrl on the other hand was all for it!
And of coarse they played thier favorite game of chase and they enjoyed some WET food.

There were definitely other perks as you can see... Tomm loves to suprise me and he did this year. Everything I opened was a suprise.

Smile for my NEW camera!

Tired after all the chasing.
Tomm and I love to go for rides and go look around. We got some pretty pictures while we were out of the Christmas lights. I finally have a camera that will capture lights and fireworks! Yay!
We went to dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse on New Years. It was so fun! I like to watch them cook and flip the stuff around.
There was chocolate of course.
My cute baby kitty. She has made claim to the blankets my Grandma sent us for Christmas.

Santa brought a brand new sleigh!

For Christmas I got Tomm (the coolest thing EVER!) a "Demo Flight Experience" at a near by flight school. You can pay to go for an airplane ride and you even get to FLY the plane a little bit. We were in the air for about 30 minutes. It was such a gorgeous day (it was like 90 degrees). We flew over the ocean and flew down along the beach. It was so beautiful!

Now we originally thought that Tomm would only be able to fly a little bit ... maybe a few turns or something.... BUT the instructor let him fly the whole time!!! (I think he impressed the instructor). He even helped with the take off and landing!! He controlled all the steering and the instructor controlled the throttle. I was SO impressed at how collected and comfortable he was. He is a natural!

My husband... a pilot. That is soo HOT!

All smiles and no nerves.

The plane

Checking the fuel for any problems

Ready to venture

Headphones ON... Check!

Seat belts ON... Check!

And we're off! Heading east for the ocean.

Gorgeous eh? We were making a left turn here so I was looking almost straight down. Weee! The wild blue yonder!
Right turn.

This was a speed boat.Look at those houses! Hello! That's a private beach y'all.
Let's take this baby down....
Successful mission!

I flew the crap out of this plane!
